LAKE MEAD/MOHAVE (NEVADA/ARIZONA) FISHING INFO:
LAKE MEAD FISHING
DECEMBER THROUGH FEBRUARY: Crappie fishing is
excellent this time of year; stripers at 30-50 feet; some bass if you fish deep.
MARCH THROUGH MAY: Stripers and bass in the coves; bluegill come into their own in May.
JUNE THROUGH AUGUST: Bass, catfish and bluegill fishing at their best; stripers still in coves at about 30 feet.
SEPTEMBER THROUGH NOVEMBER: Stripers in shallow water, bass good until the end of October, crappie fishing picks
up as the water cools.
LAKE MOHAVE FISHING
DECEMBER THROUGH FEBRUARY: Excellent trout and striper fishing; some bass.
MARCH THROUGH MAY: Good bass, catfish, stripers at their best.
JUNE THROUGH AUGUST: Bass and catfish are at their best; stripers good.
SEPTEMBER THROUGH NOVEMBER: Trout fishing picks up in November, bass is good until about mid-October, crappie
fishing improves with cooler temperatures; stripers still strong but deep.
NEVADA FISHING LICENSES Beginning January 1, 1996, a person 14 years of age or older must purchase an annual Wildlife Habitat Authorization before purchasing any license, permit or a Wildlife Heritage Certificate. A person must purchase only one Wildlife Habitat Authorization each year regardless of the number of licenses or permits purchased.
