Many people write to ask us where is the closest major airport to the Grand Canyon. There is a smaller airport at the canyon, and some scenic tour companies offer excursions from Phoenix, Scottsdale and Las Vegas.
You have a couple of options. You can fly into Phoenix, Sky Harbor (PHX)
airport and rent a vehicle (about 3.5 hours from the Grand Canyon) or pay a bit more and fly into Flagstaff (FLG)
(about 90 minutes from the Canyon).
Las Vegas (LAS)
is another alternative, but drive time will be dependent on where you are staying in Vegas. If you are arriving there, we can recommend some scenic stops along the way.
