Pantano Riding Stables in
Tucson, AZ

No trip to Tucson would be complete without experiencing the flavor of the West by horseback.

Pantano Riding Stables, a reputable family owned business, caters to riders at all skill levels. A large variety of horses are available to accomodate every type of rider.

Dress for the season but remember to wear slacks, if at all possible, whatever the temperature (no side saddle sissies here).   Bring a water bottle and wear a baseball style cap.  Stampede strings are required with western hats. No “flip-flop” sandals, high heels or strapless shoes allowed, for your safety.  We recommend sneakers or hiking boots if you don’t own a pair of riding boots. Sunscreen is advised for all Tucson outings.

Children 5 and older may ride on their own or have a wrangler “pony” ( lead) their horse during trails.  Children under the age of five must ride with a wrangler.

Enjoy a romantic Sunset Ride or join a group of friends for a combination trail ride and dinner. Have lunch with the hired hands during the cooler months.

A variety of packages are available or, if you are looking for something special, just let us know. Custom tours may be arranged for groups by dropping us an email. No prior riding experience is necessary. No weight limit.

Several out of towners have asked about tipping the wranglers. Tips are encouraged and, as a guideline, use the same scale you would use with your hairdresser.  Just don’t let the wrangler know I said that. They’re kinda sensitive about hairdressers.  If you ever see one without his cowboy hat, you’ll know why.  Talk about serious hat hair.

DINNER RIDE $47.00 per person
Join us for a one hour trail ride then relax with your choice of a Barbeque Tri-Tip Dinner or 1/2 Whole Chicken Dinner with all the fixin’s. Tip for the wait staff is included in the price but all beverages are extra. Arrive by 4:45 pm because the horses leave promptly at 5:00 pm with or without riders.  Approximately 2 1/2 hours total

SUNSET RIDE $37.00 per person
Departure time varies with the season. One hour and 15 minute ride out.  View the sunset from a scenic viewpoint.  If you’re not familiar with Tucson’s sunsets you are in for a real treat.  The mountains that frame your picture are true old west mountains and the colors are breathtaking.  Bring your camera. Approximately 1 1/2 hours total
