Grand Canyon

TIP:
I’ve seen it plenty of times.  You trust someone else to buy your domain name and later find out your friend, brother-in-law or Internet company is listed as the owner.  This discovery usually comes after you’ve had a falling out. If someone else buys the name for you, make sure you or your business is listed as owner of record.  You never know how much that name might be worth some day.  It’s a major hassle if there is an ownership dispute and usually involves going to court to resolve.

Is your webmaster ripping you off?

The first thing you’ll need is a domain name where people will find your information.  Our domain name is www.canyon-country.com.  Domain names are also called URL’s.

If you already have a domain name, you may want to skip this page.

Finding a good domain name is tough, so you’ll want to check availability to see if the name you’re after is available.

We can help you determine if the name you want can be purchased,  and if not, we’ll offer alternatives.

Sometimes a descriptive name is better than trying to match your business name.  For instance, if your business is selling golf equipment, you might be better with a domain name like woodsandirons.com as golfequipment.com is probably taken.

Having a domain name doesn’t mean you have a website, though.  It means you only purchased the name.  When you host through Canyon Country Online, we take care of buying the domain name for you.

Once you have a domain name, you’ll need a place to “park it” or a company to host your pages.  NEXT>>
