About Hiking and Mule Rides.

I receive tons and tons of e-mail asking about mule rides to the bottom of the Canyon and hiking.  There are a couple of things I would like you to know.

Mule Rides cannot be reserved through my site and I do not have brochures or information on these tours.  They are offered through the National Park Service concessionaire, and I have been told you need to plan at least two years in advance before reserving these trips, weight limit of less than 200 pounds is strictly enforced.

If you really want to see the bottom of the Grand Canyon, consider the Inner Canyon Tour. I promise it will be a lot easier than riding a mule!

Just as a warning, I don't provide reservations for hotels located INSIDE the Park boundaries, but I do nearby Tusayan.

Hiking requires a backcountry permit and you should contact the Backcountry Office, 1-928-638-7888.  Plan as far in advance as possible, at least a few months. If you are looking for whitewater rafting adventures, we now offer information on a one-day trip as well as extended trips of three days or longer.

If you have additional questions, please feel free to send me e-mail .
