The Best Way to See the Canyon.
I have had the pleasure of seeing the Grand Canyon on a number of different
tours. I recommend anyone who wants to see the Grand Canyon consider a helicopter tour. Why? Because it's the fastest way to see the canyon, you won't be crowded
because only a few people can go on a helicopter at a time, and you'll be able to explore the area.
Another good tour is the Grand Canyon Railway.
You board the train in William's, AZ (about 40 minutes from Flagstaff) and ride on to the South Rim. You'll avoid delays at the park entrance and parking problems.
Once at the South Rim, you can exploring for a few hours on foot or take the free shuttle system inside the park.
Want to really beat the crowds? Consider the many tours departing from Flagstaff, Williams, Cameron or Tusayan.
If you want to drive up to the South Rim, I high recommend you consider traveling on
to Lake Powell for many more activities. This is is a good destination for families, and people wanted to do boat tours or smooth water float trips.
