SMOOTH WATER COLORADO RIVER
FLOAT TRIPS

Colorado River smooth water float trips begin with an motor coach or van ride down the two-mile long Glen Canyon Dam access tunnel.  Your motorized pontoon raft waits at the foot of the Glen Canyon dam, which towers 583 feet above you.  You will depart on your downstream journey experiencing one of the most dramatic stretches of river found in the western United States. Your fifteen-mile float down the Colorado River takes you from Glen Canyon Dam to Lees Ferry, Arizona.

Located just above the northwestern boundary of Grand canyon National Park, this remaining portion of the original Glen Canyon is one of the river’s true treasures and one of the few places along the river’s length that the stunning scenery is accessible for day trips.

Once underway, your experienced guide will tell you tales of the river’s exploration by Major John Wesley Powell as you raft past sandstone cliffs.  Your guide will regale you with stories of the original native cultures that inhabited the region, the wildlife that makes this river canyon home and the river’s modern-day role in delivering power and water to the Southwest.  You’ll even have the opportunity to see the petroglyphs left by an ancient people.

The river portion of your trip ends at historic Lees Ferry.  You’ll ride in comfort aboard a luxury motor coach or van for your return trip to Page.

The rafts comfortably carry a maximum of 22 passengers.  Each raft is powered by Honda marine motors, one of the cleanest; most fuel efficient and quietest outboard motors available.

Each raft is outfitted with emergency communications and safety equipment.  A variety of beverages are available at all times.

Because this is a smooth water section of river, lifejackets are optional for adults, but children ages 12 and under must wear a lifejacket at all times when the raft is underway.
