About Hiking and Mule Rides.

I receive tons and tons of e-mail asking about mule rides to the bottom of the Canyon and hiking.  There are a couple of things I would like you to know.

Mule Rides cannot be reserved through my site and I do not have brochures or information on these tours.  They are offered through the National Park Service concessionaire, and I have been told you need to plan at least two years in advance before reserving these trips, weight limit is strictly enforced. I don't provide reservations for hotels located INSIDE the Park boundaries.

Hiking requires a backcountry permit and you should contact the Backcountry Office, 1-928-638-7888.  Plan as far in advance as possible, at least a few months.  If you would like hiking guides, maps or magazines, you can purchase them from me (and we always appreciate the sale) online through our secure site at www.canyon-country.com/maps.
