CATARACT CANYON OF THE COLORADO RIVER
The 100-mile trip through Canyonlands National Park begins in Moab above the confluence of the Green and
Colorado Rivers. Four days later, the trip ends at Hite Marina on Lake Powell.
Ancient Anasazi petroglyphs, cliff dwellings and wild water are all
inaccessible except by a raft trip. The first two days are spent on relatively smoth flow water. On the third day, you'll hit the first of 28 whitewater
rapids of the notorious Cataract Canyon.
In August, as the waters calm, trips are more oriented towards families. The
boats change from 37' J-Rig rafts to 18' row boats, smaller paddleboats and inflatable kayaks. The "Fun Director" joins the group during August to provide a little relief for parents.
